Today is National Voter Registration Day, a day dedicated to get voters across the country registered ahead of the November elections.

Groups in Tulsa, Tahlequah and Cleveland are helping state residents register to vote as well as increasing voter participation.  In November, voters will decide on a number of issues and races including voting for a new governor.

If you're not registered to vote and want to cast a ballot in November election, you must register by October 12th.

Thousands of national, state, and local organizations and volunteers are the driving force behind National Voter Registration Day.

The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa will host an event at the Patti Johnson Wilson YWCA Center at  1910 South Lewis from 8:30 a.m. to noon.  Or, starting at 12:30 p.m., you can stop in at a Tulsa Cares event at Planned Parenthood at 3712 East 11th Street.

In Tahlequah, there several groups hosting events.  Every Native Vote Counts is setting up at the NSU University Center at 600 North Grand Avenue or you can stop by the Mobile Voter Registration at 100 South Muskogee Avenue.

And in Cleveland, Cleveland Votes will be set up at the Jay C. Byers Memorial Library at 215 East Wichita.

You might also notice a push online. Google is celebrating the day on its home page and #NationalVoterRegistrationDay is something you might see trending on social media.
