An upscale Washington D.C. restaurant has hired guards to protect the staff and customers.

The significant cost to the business, and the likely altering of the restaurant’s popular ambiance, is all because of protesters who are furious about President Trump nominating Bret Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Last week, Senator Ted Cruz and his wife were chased out of Fiola Italian Restaurant by a dozen or so protesters, who had been tipped off about their dinner reservations, and accosted Cruz about his support for Judge Kavanaugh.

That's wrong.

That kind of behavior is dividing this country even more.

The restaurant owner, who did nothing, has had to take down their social media sites, and their reservation line has been ringing with derogatory comments and even threats of violence.

All because he served a plate of spaghetti to a senator and his wife

The restauranteur went on to say about the intrusion: "We would have never thought such a thing was possible in the restaurant business."

Unfortunately, it is, Fiola will never be quite the same, and neither will the other restaurant patrons who were warned by the shouting protesters that they'll be next if they support Kavanaugh.

I'm Kelly Ogle and that's My 2 Cents.
