Claremore Man Who Attempted To Take Deputy's Gun Charged By Grand Jury

United States Attorney Trent Shores announced the results of the December 2018 Federal Grand Jury on Monday.

In September, James Kent Patrick Hill was being taken to jail after Verdigris Police say they found drugs and guns at the Hill’s house. During the arrest, Rogers County Deputies say Hill started acting up in the car. 

"The suspect was able to get both hands on the gun to overcome that and actually raise the gun out of the holster," said Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton.

The deputy was able to pull over to the side of the road and subdue Hill with his taser.

Hill faces multiple charges for possession with intent to distribute drugs, including methamphetamine, marijuana, alprazolam, and diazepam. He is further charged with possessing firearms to further his crimes and with being a felon in possession of 10 firearms, including shotguns, rifles and pistols and more than 1,000 rounds of associated ammunition. Finally, Hill is charged possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence and with attempting to kill a Rogers County Sheriff’s Office Corporal, while trying to escape from law enforcement.
