An Oklahoma City non-profit made the holidays a little easier for the family of a fallen Reserve Asher Police Officer, Wednesday.
Jarate Condit, 23, was killed in a car accident last February.
Condit was on his way to mandatory police training in Shawnee, when the Asher Police cruiser he was driving lost control on “black ice.” He left behind a two-year-old son name Grayson.
Operation Christmas Train Set Director Dustin Fisher showered little Grayson with Christmas gifts outside Andy Alligators in Norman.
“A lot of times after the father passes or the family member passes, it’s kind of like life moves on,” Fisher said. “But it doesn’t move on for them at Christmas time, because they’re without that person, and it leaves a hole, it leaves a void.”
Mustang Heights Baptist Church played a big role in supplying the soon to be three-year-old boy with gifts.
“It really does shows there are good people out there who are willing to help,” Grayson’s grandmother Terri Condit said. “And make the best of the worst situations.”
