Homeland Security and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children were in Tulsa Friday to help combat child sex trafficking.
Hosted by Jenks-based nonprofit The Demand Project, the summit is meant to help law enforcement, social workers, and volunteers put an end to child sex trafficking. Organizers say it is often an overlooked problem.
"The turnout's been okay. But with the amount of kids that are being hurt, this place should be overwhelmed. We shouldn't have enough parking spaces or enough classrooms," said Kristin Weis with the Demand Project.
