BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma - Broken Arrow Police are searching for a man who stole keys from JK's Thai Restaurant on Kenosha.

The owners say they changed the locks on the restaurant, but they're hoping their story will encourage others to be aware of their surroundings.

"It’s heartbreaking that we just try to work hard, make money but it just like is gone," said Jaruwan Slovacek, Co-Owner of JK’s Thai Restaurant.

Jaruwan, who also goes by the name Jay, says she came in to start opening up JK's Thai Restaurant around 9 Monday Morning.

She says she went to the front of the store to unlock the door for one of her employees and left her keys in the lock.

"I went and unlocked the door for her just real fast and then I went back to the kitchen and I heard a noise," said Slovacek.

At first, Jay thought the noise was one of her employees coming into work, but when she walked back out from the kitchen, she noticed her keys were missing.

"I went to open the door and I saw the guy walking outside so I know that my key is gone," said Slovacek.

Surveillance video shows a man walking past the restaurant at first and looking through the window.

A few moments later he notices the keys on the inside of the door, then the video shows him taking the keys and walking away.

"I wasn’t really convinced at this point, so I went back to see the camera but that’s the guy," said Slovacek.

Jay says they've had their restaurant in this location for five years and they've never had any problems.

Now she hopes others will learn from her story.

"I'm kind of afraid it’s going to happen again and I want to warn somebody else out there too,” said Slovacek. “Don’t turn your back even for just one second."

Broken Arrow Police say if you recognize this man, call Crimestoppers at 918-596-COPS.
