A local nature center is calling on volunteers.

The Oxley Nature Center is hosting what it calls a "Volunteer Roundup" today February 12th.

The nature center is located at 6700 Mohawk Blvd  which is approximately one mile north of the Tulsa Zoo. It has nine miles of trails to explore, an interpretive center, and has free programs for children and adults on the weekends.

Oxley says it's always looking for volunteers and wanted to host a special event to get more folks involved.

There are several options--like becoming a naturalist, leading tours for school children or adopting and maintaining a trail.

The nature center also needs photographers, hosts for the visitors center and a traveling exhibit as well as people to help promote Oxley through marketing.
