Union And Owasso Schools Approve Redistricting Plans

Two Tulsa County school districts approve redistricting plans affecting elementary students.

At Monday night’s Union school board meeting, a long-range planning committee shared its recommendation for the 2019-20 school year. The district approved a plan that will shift schools for students in several neighborhoods, with most being moved to Ochoa elementary.

Union School Board Discusses Redistricting Plan

Leaders say they know change is hard, but they believe the plan is best for everyone.

"It's never easy, most people don't like change. But after you've made the change, they turn out to be pretty happy for the most part."

Owasso's school board also approved a similar elementary redistricting plan at its meeting Monday night.
