Tulsa Police hope a pair of unique shoes will help them find the men who robbed the employees of a Family Dollar and Walgreens.

Detectives say the shoes one of the robbers was wearing in the surveillance video are 1996 Scottie Pippen Air More Uptempo's.

Because they stand out, police hope these will lead to an arrest.

You can see in the video, two men walk into the Walgreens at 15th and Lewis and hold a gun to an employee's head and demand money.

"Faces covered, hoods over their heads, masks on their faces, all you can see is pretty much their eyes," said Sgt. Brian Blair.

Sergeant Brian Blair says the robbers forced another employee into the back room to open the safe.

"Clerks were unable to open the safe so they took what they could get from the register and a cigar I believe and fled," said Blair.

But it's the shoes detectives want people to notice.

Sergeant Blair says they saw these same shoes in surveillance video taken during a robbery at a Family Dollar just north of I-244 on Sheridan. He says it was the same MO, the robbers came in, pointed a gun at the clerk and took the money from the register.

"They actually say air on the side of them in big bold letters. You can't miss them. They are kind of retro shoes. I don't know if they are a new release or if somebody has had them for 20 years but pretty unusual shoes," said Blair.

Sergeant Blair says the same Walgreens was robbed on Saturday but right now they don't believe it was the same people.

"These guys are clearly dangerous, armed with a handgun. That's one step from a homicide. For whatever reason haven't hit in a month or two and we are glad of that but we would like to find out who they are," said Blair.

Detectives say if you recognize these shoes or have any information about the two robberies, call CRIMESTOPPERS at 918-596-COPS.

If you have information, you can contact Crimestoppers at 596-COPS or Robbery at TPDRobbery@cityoftulsa.org.
