Ada Man Shot and Killed During A Fight

A man was shot and killed during a fight at a home in Ada, late Saturday.

Pontotoc County Sheriff's office received a 911 call of a gunshot victim around 11:40 p.m.

The incident occurred at 18743 County Road 1520 in Ada, when 911 caller Joshua Gardner said his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend intruded into his home. Gardner stated Kyle Wood, the gunshot victim, wanted to fight him. Gardner managed to retrieve a pistol and shot Wood.

Wood was pronounced dead on scene.

Gardner's girlfriend, Patricia Schwartz's, four children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
