Moore police arrested a student Friday after finding a gun in his locker. Police said it's part of a bigger crime.
According to police, a three-day teen crime spree is what led officers to the loaded glock handgun found in a Central Jr. High School locker.
Police said teens stole lawn equipments, electronics , 4-wheelers and a handgun amongst other things. Authorities used reports, witnesses and students to trace the gun to 15-year-old Dillan Ashby.
Even the school administrators didn't know the gun was on campus until police showed up. Officers arrested Ashby, putting together the last piece of this case.
"We don't have any reason to believe that the gun went to school for the purposes of harming someone it was just basically on his person he wasn't showing anyone or producing the gun in a threatening manner," said Sgt. Jeremy Lewis.
Others wonder why a 15 year old needed a weapon.
"It depends on what it is. Some kids want to be protected because they're is serious bullying going around. But kids will be kids. He might want to show the weapon off to his friends or be a bad guy," said Brittany Planch a student.
Her mother is concerned about what could have happened.
"They should have called us to come to the school and come pick our kids. I will need to call the school and find out what happened," said Sally Planch.
Ashby was booked into the Pottawatomie County Detention Center Friday.
