Police are patrolling an area along 41st and near Highway 169 after two early Thursday morning robberies by a man armed with a knife.

The robbery of a QuikTrip at 41st and Garnett at 12:40 a.m. and a robbery attempt at a Jack In The Box on 41st Street west of Garnett at about 5 a.m. happened within blocks of each other.

After getting money from the QuikTrip, police say the man ran south from the store.

Despite what police call similarities, they are not ready yet to say they involve the same robber.

During the Jack In The Box robbery attempt, police said the manager refused to give the man any money after the man pointed a knife at him.

Police say there is surveillance video from both robberies and that detectives will hopefully be able to get high resolution copies of both to compare them later today.

Police say no one was hurt in either robbery.
