Steven Wade Jameson was released from the Tulsa County jail Tuesday morning.

Jameson pleaded guilty to a car crash that killed Michael and Angela Mulanax and their son James on Christmas Eve of 2009 but a judge recently threw out that conviction and a 24-year sentence.

News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright was there for Jameson's release.

The judge is allowing Jameson out on an ankle monitor until his next court appearance and while the District Attorney appeals the judge's decision.

Jameson came out of  court services where he got the GPS monitor and immediately hugged his family members who were there to support him.  They say he's a good person who made a mistake and has been trying to better himself during his four years in prison and they are hoping this case is getting close to being over.

"I'm elated and hoping and praying for the real end to it. I can't help it. I want it to really be over," said Jameson's mother, Debra Lowery-Jameson.

Members of the Mulanax family want it to end also, but with a different outcome.   They are not pleased Jameson is out of jail.

They say he made a choice to drive 70 mph on an icy road and have marijuana in his car and those choices killed three innocent people and he should be held accountable for that.

They hope the state Court of Appeals overturns the judge's decision and Jameson goes back to prison to serve his full sentence.

One member of the Mulanax family was not in the car that night. Amanda was 15 years old when her parents and brother were killed. She was at Jameson's release as well Tuesday as one of Steven Jameson's supporters.
