The Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision suspended the license of a Tulsa doctor after an investigation found she was prescribing large amounts of drugs to patients without doing exams or keeping adequate records.

According to documents provided by the state board, Dr. Tamerlane Rozsa prescribed large amounts of controlled dangerous substances which were not medically necessary and in some cases, without keeping proper records.

Investigators served a subpoena on Dr. Rozsa at her practice on South Sheridan in 2014. According to state records, she told investigators many of her patients were ex-smokers and needed promethazine with codeine to alleviate their allergies.

Investigators stated Dr. Rozsa's exam room was full of trash and she was living in the office. In addition, the board learned many Tulsa area pharmacies had refused to fill prescriptions written by Dr. Rozsa due to the amounts and combinations of drugs being prescribed.

The board held an emergency meeting last month on the case, declaring Dr. Rozsa "cannot practice medicine with a reasonable degree of safety, competency and skill sufficient to protect the public health, safety and welfare" and ordered her license suspended pending a full hearing before the board on May 14, 2015.
