TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police say they've arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with the sexual assault of a female jogger at LaFortune Park on February 16, 2012.
During a news conference Monday morning, police identified Willis McPherson, also known as Willis Sisco, as the suspect in that assault.
The victim says the suspect tried to talk to her, she refused and he attacked her. McPherson was arrested a few days later after a separate rape just a few blocks away. In that case, the victim said he knocked on her apartment door.
"They're not friends but she recognizes him. She opens the door. The suspect forces his way in and sexually assaults her while her baby is in the room," said Tulsa Police Sgt Mark Mears.
McPherson was arrested shortly after he'd been in a car wreck. Detectives say McPherson now faces charges in both the apartment and Lafortune park attacks.
"It's very much a great relief for us, especially to put the cases to rest so quickly," Sgt Mears said.
McPherson is currently in the Tulsa County jail.
