OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin's denied a request by a Tulsa city councilor to ask the attorney general to investigate Mayor Dewey Bartlett.
Earlier this month, Councilor John Eagleton sent a formal request to Fallin asking that she ask the Attorney General's office to investigate.

Fallin denied Eagleton's request Friday, saying the issues outlined in Eagleton's letter "should be resolved locally."
In a letter addressed to Eagleton, Fallin said "No one is well served by an environment where a city's elected officials refuse to work together to address the very real needs of their constituents."

"It is my sincere hope that both the Mayor and the city Council work out their differences and move forward with a real focus on the people's business," Fallin went on to say.
This week, Mayor Bartlett sent the governor his response to Eagleton's allegation.

His letter to Fallin stated, "Mr. Eagleton's allegations contain misstatements and omission of facts and have no legal validity."

Eagleton told the News On 6, he plans to keep going, regardless of the governor's decision.
