Friday, Governor Kevin Stitt is expected to release his plans to reopen Oklahoma’s economy after speaking with President Trump.
On Thursday, President Trump said some states can open back up Friday if they want to, but only if they have a handle on the coronavirus.
“They will be able to go literally tomorrow, yes” said President Trump. “We are not opening all at once, but one careful step at a time.”
The president released a three-phased plan to reopen the country.
The guidelines laid out how businesses can gradually open back up, while the coronavirus is beaten back.
Phase one would open restaurants, gyms, and churches.
The President said some states already meet the requirements to open back up.
Governor Kevin Stitt tweeted pictures of his conference call with
President Trump and the rest of the U.S. Governors yesterday.
That’s when The President told them that these guidelines aren’t mandatory, and he’s letting them call the shots in their own states.
Doctor Anthony Fauci, with the White House Coronavirus Task
Force, says this may be a situation where the country sees some learning curves.
“This is uncharted water,” said Dr. Fauci. “There may be some setbacks and we may have to pull back a little and then go forward.”
