Scam Suspect Wanted In 3 Other States Arrested In MWC After Targeting Military Employees

A serial scammer wanted in three states was arrested this week near Tinker Air Force Base.

Military investigators worked with multiple Oklahoma City area agencies to end 34-year-old Krystal Motley’s crime spree.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office's warrant team arrested the accused scammer after a victim came forward with information that helped them find her.

“Basically, she was targeting folks in the military and stealing their identities,” said Mark Myers, Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Authorities zeroed in on Motley after a Tinker employee reported to Del City police that someone used her identity to stay at a metro hotel.

The hotel located near the military base is where Oklahoma County deputies located Motley.

"Apparently, she called for an Uber,” said Myers. “When she came outside, she was holding a child. At that point, the deputies approached her and spoke with her before she could get in and leave.”

Deputies said her story did not add up and the ID Motley was carrying turned out belong to a Tinker employee.

A probable cause affidavit filed by Tinker investigators showed they learned of Motley's criminal behavior in January, but her crime did not start in Oklahoma.

"She was able to get credit cards, also cash bogus checks,” said Myers. “Come to find out after they were able to interview her and get decent information and positively identify her, she was wanted out of California, Florida and South Carolina for doing the exact same thing she was doing here.”

Myers said the other states refused to extradite Motley because of COVID-19 restrictions, so she will behind bars in the Oklahoma County jail.

"Tinker Air Force Base had a long list of charges that they planned on working with us to file against her,” said Myers.

As for the child who was with Motley, she refused to give authorities the child's name, according to Oklahoma County deputies. The child was placed in DHS custody.
