Oklahoma Polling Places Employ New COVID-19 Safety Measures

Election Day in Oklahoma will have some big issues on the ballot including Medicaid expansion but polling places are also working to ensure everyone can vote safely.

The Tulsa County Election Board says workers will be equipped with proper PPE and they're asking that voters wear masks too. They say lines will also probably be longer than usual because they'll be practicing social distancing. Because of the COVID pandemic, they say many of their usual polling locations will not be open on Tuesday. The state expanded early voting hours to try to negate some of those wait times.

Governor Kevin Stitt also signed a bill into law that expanded the options to submit an absentee ballot for those experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. SB210 allows voters casting absentee ballots to submit a copy of your photo ID instead of getting it notarized. Absentee ballots need to be received by your county election board by seven p.m. on Election Day.
