The Jenks Police Department said they have been receiving an abundance of community support over the past few weeks, especially since two Tulsa police officers were shot.

JPD spokesperson Sgt. Eric Bowdle said during the past few weeks, a lot of people have stopped by to bring the department various treats, meals, notes, drawings, and more to make sure the officers know they are supported. Some community members have even left sticky notes of encouragement on patrol cars during their shifts as an extra dose of encouragement.

Bowdle said during a time when law enforcement is getting a lot of hatred, it’s nice to know their community backs the blue.

“Right now, is a difficult time for law enforcement, but with the community support it has been very special, and it helps us do our job every day knowing that we are part of this special relationship ship with our community,” Bowdle said.

If you would like to bring anything to the Jenks Police Department to show our support as well, Bowdle said feel free to stop by any time during the week.
