Two Wagoner Police officers laced up for a big race on Friday to help raise money for the Brighter Futures Foundation.

Officers Jamie Powell and TJ Ponds raced at Wagoner High School and while Officer Ponds won the race, the real winner was the whole community, because they $2,000 for the foundation.

"It's good to have everybody out here, we have a really strong backing in our community. Glad to see that we were able to get some donations," said Ponds.

"I'm a man. I take my losses. But I do want a rematch,' said Officer Powell.

Brighter Futures has delivered more than $25,000 meals to the community since the pandemic started. They hope to use the money raised to help more kids as the school year starts.
