Health Care Clinic Opens Doors In NW OKC To Serve Those In Need

A new health care organization is partnering with local businesses and nonprofits to help Oklahomans who are struggling to get the medical attention they need.

The Camino Clinic opens its doors this week.

"I come from a background where my family and a lot of the people I knew growing up didn't have health insurance and needed health care," Tiffany Nguyen-Ngo, the CEO and founder of the Camino Clinic.

Now, Nguyen-Ngo is turning to help those in need of affordable health care.

"We want to be a temporary spot where people can get their health care needs and medication as well," said Nguyen-Ngo.

The Camino Clinic plans to take in a patient and get them back on our feet. 

"We expect our patients to be here for 30 to 60 days. Between those times, we will help them find jobs through our workforce development program," said Nguyen-Ngo. 

This clinic is primarily a place where people can visit a general doctor, get help with prescription assistance and find specialty care, but they plan to help anyone with just about anything they can.

"There is health care, there is food, there is a place to find a job, there is legal aid, there is everything you might need," said Nguyen-Ngo.

This organization is run on donations and doctors will volunteer their time.

The Camino Clinic partners and shares the building with Reach Our City in northwest Oklahoma City.

As for Nguyen-Ngo, a year and a half of work will soon be a reality.

"If this clinic thrives, I hope to be able to duplicate it throughout the counties," said Nguyen-Ngo. "It has been quite a journey. It makes me almost want to cry."
