Poll volunteers helped things run smoothly on another record-breaking day of early voting in Oklahoma.

Tulsa County said that 5,367 more people voted Friday, almost 1,000 more than the total from Thursday. More than 370,000 votes have been counted statewide as of Friday, including mail-in ballots.

The excitement from volunteers helping with voting day parking is contagious.

"There's an energy here,” Sam Flowers said. “Folks are getting out and doing it.”

For months, Flowers has been all over the Tulsa area encouraging people to vote as part of the Woody Guthrie Center's Folk the Vote campaign.

During early voting, Flowers and many volunteers have been helping people park for free. Some volunteers are helping with elections for the first time.

"I did feel like it I wanted to be a part of it this year," said Toni Mason. "I feel people started paying attention to politics more."

At OneOK Field, trained poll workers help people through every step of the process.

"Everything went really smooth, all the volunteers were super helpful and directing," said Austin Canfield.

"Everybody was helpful, there was no grumbling, it was a good experience really," said Dolores Schiffman.

Schiffman and Debbie Evans waited in line together for over two hours. They said the warm weather and direction made the process simple.

"Made you feel kind of patriotic,” Schiffman said.

The Tulsa County Election board said it has seen more than 200 new volunteers that will help on Election day. Many are young people looking to serve their communities.

"I'm proud of Tulsa, how they are turning out in numbers doing this," Flowers said.

The last day of early voting continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's the only place to vote early in Tulsa County.

If you don't live in Tulsa County, check out the state election board website for your early voting spot.
