Chef Becca Foy shares a recipe for a hot apple cobbler skillet a la mode.
2 pie crusts, store-bought or scratch-made
6 oz apple pie filling
4 oz butter, melted
Preheat oven to 325°. Prepare your pans by spreading half of the melted butter into the bottom of the skillet.Place the crust in the bottom of the skillet. Spread the apple filling evenly in the pan. Place the second crust on top of the filling, making sure it covers all of the filling. With a pastry brush, coat the top crust with the remaining melted butter and generously sprinkle the crust with a cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes until the crust is evenly browned.
Finish by topping with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and whipped cream.
