Love Bug Oreo Cookies

Cortnay Grider has a great Valentine's Day recipe for a tasty treat: a love bug Oreo cookie!

Ingredients / Supplies

1 bag Chocolate candy melts, Red

Assorted Valentine's sprinkles

White Decorative Frosting

Double Stuffed Oreos or Regular

48 Candy Eyes

Directions:

Melt a half bag of red chocolate melts in a microwave safe bowl. Start by melting for 30 seconds, remove from microwave and stir. Place back in the microwave for additional 30 seconds and stir. Repeat until the red chocolate is completely melted and smooth. 

Dunk an Oreo halfway into the melted red chocolate. This is going to give the Oreo the look of a lady bug! 

Place the Oreo on foil or parchment paper and sprinkle the melted red chocolate with Valentine sprinkles. 

Repeat these steps until you’ve reached the desired number of cookies you want to decorate.

Squeeze two small dots of white icing onto the cookie side of the Oreo.  This will be the ‘glue’ for the candy eyes. Place candy eyes onto your “Love Bug”! Repeat process until all Oreos are decorated.

Let Love Bugs sit and harden for about 30 minutes so chocolate and eyes can dry.
