Tulsa Crews Making Progress Repairing Waterlines, Roads Damaged By Winter Weather

The City of Tulsa is still feeling the impacts of the winter weather this month, but progress is being made on waterline breaks and road repairs throughout the city.

According to officials, the city is still pumping about 35 million gallons of water more than it usually would for the month of February, and for that reason, the city is still asking people to conserve water.

City officials said, 17 crews are working to repair water line breaks and another eight crews are going around to make sure water is restored to customers.

The city's interactive water main break map currently indicates 38 breaks across Tulsa which are impacting more than 100 people.

A voluntary water boil advisory is also still in place for those who have experienced disruptions in water usage.

Meanwhile, the city is now working to fix some of the roads that were torn up because of the breaks but said that repairs are going to take some time.

"With cold weather, cold climate, wet conditions, sometimes that will hang up the ability to pave, put asphalt down, concrete, they are temperature sensitive. Some of our striping is temperature-sensitive"

The City recommends reports go to their “311 App” and the corresponding online system. In particular, the city is looking for reports from neighborhoods where city workers are not driving to spot problems.
