1 Person Killed In NW OKC Auto-Pedestrian Crash, Witnesses Warn Others About Area

“I hear something behind me when I turn around, I see her...she’s asleep on the ground you know what I’m saying that’s so sad,” said Hamza Ameziane, who witnessed the crash.

Oklahoma City police responded to the auto-pedestrian crash just after 3 p.m. Monday.

Officers on site said a black Nissan rogue was traveling westbound near 23rd when the driver hit two people.

Ameziane was at the 7-Eleven across the street when it happened.

“I was at 7-Eleven trying to get a drink and I see a white lady she looked homeless, and she was trying to buy something from 7-Eleven, and she was going to the bus stop,” he said.

Police said the 69-year-old woman died at the scene and a man was not injured. The driver is cooperating.

“You need to drive like 25 or 30 the speed limit,” said Ameziane.

He said a lot of people hang out in the area, and he’s seen people speed down 23rd not paying attention.

A woman who frequently rides her bike in the area said she has had a similar experience.

“I almost got hit on the bike too, and you have to watch where you’re going because they drive fast, they speed,” said Tara Day.

Police told News 9 they will not be releasing the victim's name until they notify her family.
