In Seminole, Oklahoma, a lot of people are getting into the holiday spirit. It’s the time of year when the sun goes down, the lights come on at Magnolia Park.

Visitors at Seminole's Snowman Wonderland say this holiday light display is a special experience.

"It's just a joy to be here," Barbara Bruton said. "It makes the kids happy, it's wonderful."

"The small towns in America, they still have that Christmas spirit," volunteer Neil Craig said.

That Christmas spirit prompted the local Lions club nine years ago, to come up with the idea and can-do Christmas spirit made the holiday display happen, and then some.

"The first year, the city manager hoped we would have 12 displays, we ended up with 60," Craig said.

There are now 160 displays featuring scenes of oil derricks and toy soldiers, to Santa water skiing. You might even see Santa hauling hay, flying an airplane or driving a sports car. There's even a T-Rex.

Barbara Bruton brought her great-grandkids to see the lights.

"This place always makes me feel like a child,” Bruton said. “It's like Christmas, it fills you with joy."

Some displays are religious, others honor the military. All are unique.

"I like the ones that have angels," Lankford said.

On Wednesday nights, you can even ride in a horse-drawn carriage.

"To have a carriage, it's like a fairy tale come true,” Bowman said.

It’s a vision that's come true, thanks to the hard work of volunteers.

Another special part of the snowman wonderland is the beautiful 90-foot Christmas tree.

"It's like the old days when things were just good and natural,” Bruton said. “it's just good."

Snowmen all across town, point the way to the display.

"We get to celebrate with our family, and I just like looking at lights,” Lankford said.

Whether it's to make memories with family or reflect on the reason for the season, visitors agree, a visit to the Snowman Wonderland is worth the drive. So bring your camera, as folks in Seminole welcome you to town, and hope to spread a little joy to the world.

"Come out and see our lights and spend a day in small-town America, and see what we have to offer," said Craig.
