The Oklahoma baseball team started quickly by scoring two runs in the first inning, but No. 5 Texas Tech responded with five runs and went on to win 10-2 in the series finale Saturday afternoon at Rip Griffin Park.

The Sooners (33-20, 15-9 Big 12) claimed the series with 13-8 and 9-6 victories on Thursday and Friday. OU's 15 conference wins are its most since the 2010 team also posted 15 Big 12 victories.

Oklahoma got out of the gates fast, scoring first for the third game in the series. OU runs on back-to-back RBI singles by Tanner Tredaway and Jimmy CrooksPeyton Graham singled and stole his way to third base, setting up the RBI by Tredaway who then stole second and scored on Crooks' hit.

After the two-run, three-hit first inning, the Sooners were limited to single hits in five other innings. Oklahoma's first leadoff batter reached in the seventh inning when Jackson Nicklaus drew a walk and Diego Muniz pinch hit with a single. OU loaded the bases but was unable to push across a run.

In the ninth, Muniz led off with a walk and Pettis followed with a single, but a pair of strikeouts and a fly out ended the game.

Texas Tech (36-18, 15-9 Big 12) scored in the first inning on an RBI single by Ty Coleman and two-run hits by Hudson White and Parker Kelly. A sacrifice fly and a two-run home run by Jace Jung in the fourth made it 8-2. Solo home runs by Kurt Wilson and Parker Kelly in the sixth and seventh innings made the final tally.

OU starter Cade Horton (2-2) and TTU starter Chase Hampton (5-3) factored into the decisions.

Oklahoma, which won its last five series to end the regular season, has secured a top-three seed in the Big 12 Championship next week at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The full bracket will be released Saturday night.
