Oklahoma City leaders have officially welcomed the Greater Oklahoma City Asian Chamber of Commerce.

On Wednesday, Governor Kevin Stitt and Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt joined business leaders from across the city in celebrating the new organization.

The chamber was created to be an advocacy and support organization for the rapidly growing Asian business community and it’s board members hope to be a resource for those that need it.

“I think it is time to work together to contribute to our society and our city and our state,” OKC Asian Chamber of Commerce President Scarlet Le-Cao said.

Le-Cao moved to Oklahoma as a student and decided to stay because of the state’s family values. Those values, she said, are shared across the board.

Now, she hopes this organization can come alongside all those who want to work hard and succeed.

The Asian population in Oklahoma City has risen to 50,000, according to the chamber’s founders.

More than 5,300 hundred businesses are Asian owned and bring in more than $1.2 billion in sales.
