Areas of dense fog and mist continued until at least mid-morning, when a cold front approaches from the north.
Daytime highs remained in the lower 50s. Light east or southeast winds this morning shifted to the north this afternoon at 10 to 20 mph with the front's arrival.
Colder temperatures will follow the system, with Tuesday morning lows in the lower to mid-30s and daytime highs in the mid-40s under partly sunny conditions and north winds at 15 to 20 mph.
A strong northern stream trough will not clear the area until late Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, but it should take most of the clouds away by Wednesday and Thursday.
Morning lows will be in the mid to upper 20s, and daytime highs will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s with sunshine.
A disturbance in the southern stream will approach the area Friday evening, bringing a few showers or storms across extreme eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas.
As this disturbance quickly moves eastward, a surface cold front will push through the area, bringing gusty winds but seasonal temperatures for the weekend.
Morning lows will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s, and daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 50s on Saturday and nearing 60° on Sunday. A warmer trend is likely to continue this weekend into early next week.
