A 26-year-old man is dead and one suspect is in custody following a shooting Sunday night in Tulsa, police say.
The Tulsa Police Department identified the victim as Mikaleb Fitzgerald-White on Monday.
On Sunday around 6:00 p.m., officers were called out to a bank at 31st Street and Mingo Road for a shooting.
When Officers arrived, they found the male victim, identified as Mikaleb Fitzgerald, with gunshot wounds. He died from his injuries on the way to the hospital.
Through the investigation, detectives learned Mikaleb Fitzgerald and a woman with him were in a strip mall in the area when they encountered two males.
The two male suspects later met up again with Mikaleb Fitzgerald and the woman, pulled a gun on them, and attempted to rob them. During the attempted robbery, one of the suspects shot Fitzgerald. Both suspects then fled the scene. The woman was not injured.
Through the investigation, detectives identified 24-year-old Deandre Marsalis as the suspected shooter in the case. Marsalis was taken into custody this afternoon and arrested for 1st Degree Murder.
