Vian Man Pleads Guilty To Strangling His Partner Several Times

A Vian man was extensive criminal history pleads guilty to strangling an intimate partner.

Federal prosecutors said Lucas Blackbird strangled the victim multiple times over several hours in February.

State records show Blackbird also spent time in prison for burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, driving under the influence and rape convictions.

Those cases were later dismissed because of the Supreme Court ruling on tribal jurisdiction.

Blackbird is now in federal custody until a judge sentences him.
