The remains have been found of a Leflore County man who's been missing for three years.

Hollie Stegall says her cousin Tanner McKosky was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to laugh and was really more like her brother.

"He was dearly loved, he was a great person, a great man, he had such a kind heart, he was the most polite person you'd ever meet," she said.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says Tanner went missing in April 2021 and was last seen in Bengal, just north of Talihina.

OSBI says Tanner's remains were found in a wooded area northeast of Bengal two weeks ago.

"All I know is he didn't deserve to lay there for that long, he deserves a celebration of life," Hollie said.

Hollie says she and her family have spent the past three years anxious to know where Tanner was and what happened to him, but they felt like there was nothing they could do.

"We all knew that he was gone, but just the final word of it.. It's final," she said.

She wants people to know Tanner was loved and missed every day.

She believes foul play was involved and wants answers from anyone who may know something.

"We forgive you, if you want to come forward it's fine, but if not, none of us get away from God, and that's just how I believe," Hollie said.

The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of Tanner's death and OSBI is investigating what happened.
