1 c. shortening ¾ c. granulated sugar ¾ c. brown sugar, packed 2 eggs 2 ¼ c. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla 1 (12 oz.) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips ¾ c. chopped pecans
In a large bowl, mix shortening, sugars and vanilla with an electric mixer for 2 to 3 minutes. Slowly add dry ingredients; stir in nuts and chocolate chips with a spoon. Drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes; allow to cool on pan for 1 minute. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
