Meet The 2nd Baby Of The New Year

The first baby born in the New Year always gets all the publicity. But, what of New Year's baby number two or three. You never hear of them. That is until now. The News On 6's Rick Wells reports he found the second Tulsa baby born in 2008 at St. John Medical Center.

One-day-old Kaleb Bullett Wayne Gay was still at the hospital, surrounded by his proud grandma, cousins and other family. His parents are Dustin Gay and Katie Martin of Skiatook. They had quite a New Year's Eve.

"We were down at my cousins playing cards for New Year's. She needed to come in," said Dustin Gay.

They jumped in the car and raced from Skiatook to Tulsa.

"We ran a bunch of red lights and didn't see one cop," said Dustin Gay of their journey.

He said they got to the hospital at about 8:30 Monday night. Kaleb made his grand entry at 2:56 a.m. on New Year's morning. He weighed in at five pounds and 13 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

If The News On 6 had found the very first baby born on New Year's Day 2008, we might never have met Kaleb.
