State Army recruitment centers boost numbers

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ State Army recruiters say Oklahoma has the second highest recruitment totals in the nation.

Army spokesman Chris Wilson says since the beginning of the recruitment season in October, more than 1,000 Oklahomans have joined the regular Army and 350 have joined the Army Reserve.

Wilson says the Army offers benefits such as cash bonuses and money for college.

Wilson says recruiters signed up 1,416 Oklahomans for the Army in 2004-2005.
