MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- A jury of nine women and three men will hear testimony in the case of a man who faces five counts of stealing from a government entity that has received federal funds.

US Assistant Attorney Gay Guthrie says the jury was selected Monday for the trial of former McAlester City Manager Randy Green. Green will be prosecuted in federal court in Muskogee.

Green faces up to 50 years in prison and more than a million dollars in fines if convicted.

Authorities say Green received more than $579,000 in unused-leave pay since 1999 after submitting numerous contract amendments.

Guthrie says federal charges are possible when someone is accused of embezzling at least $5,000 from a government entity that receives at least $10,000 a year in federal funds.

The trial is set for March 20th.
