The future of four rural hospitals may be in jeopardy.

Hillcrest Healthcare System plans to end contracts with several northeast Oklahoma hospitals. Hillcrest plans to terminate operations with Wagoner Community Hospital, Cleveland Area Hospital, the Pawnee Municipal Hospital and the Bristow Medical Center.

Tulsa-based Community Partners is looking at taking over the operating leases for those facilities.

Hillcrest says it plans to continue operating hospitals in Henryetta and Cushing.
