Statewide traffic deaths increase

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The number people killed in traffic accidents in Oklahoma is on the rise this year.

The state Department of Public Safety says 117 people have died in accidents so far in 2006 up from 96 at this time last year.

And as of Sunday, DPS reports 21 traffic fatalities in March, nine more than the 12 at this point in March 2005.
