Danger of Oklahoma wildfires decreases

SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) -- Officials at the state's fire response center expect lighter winds and cooler temperatures to lessen the danger of wildfires Tuesday.

The center says firefighters across the state fought 10 fires Monday that damaged more than 860 acres. The largest fire spread across 600 acres near Ryan.

Since November, there have been more than 2,600 fires in Oklahoma, destroying more than 550,000 acres.

A burn ban continues to be in effect for all 77 counties in Oklahoma as a moderate to high risk of fires remains.
