McAlester man dies in Pittsburg County accident

FEATHERSTON, Okla. (AP) _ A 78-year-old McAlester man has died from injuries he received in an accident on a Pittsburg County highway.

Billy Bob Adams was a passenger Monday afternoon in a car driven by his wife, 69-year-old Judith Adams.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Judith Adams fell asleep at the wheel while driving south on State Highway 31. Her car ran off the roadway, struck a culvert and went airborne before crashing into a fence.

Billy Bob Adams was pronounced dead at a McAlester hospital. Judith Adams is listed in stable condition at the same hospital.
