A contested Tulsa city council race has been resolved.

Wednesday's recount of the ballots cast in District 5 shows Bill Martinson won the election over Jon Kirby by the exact margin as the original vote showed. Kirby lost the April 4th election by just 21 votes.

More than 8,000 ballots were cast. Each ballot was examined by at least four people.

A hearing will be held Monday on allegations of voter irregularities. Martinson won't be sworn in until those issues are resolved, but is still considered the councilor for that district and is able to vote in council decisions.
