Tulsa Police have created a plan called "Operation Bullet Trap." They won't release the specifics of the plan because of officer safety concerns, but say it is a first step toward finding a solution.
Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor says the plan involves officers more quickly analyzing crime numbers so police can see when patterns and trends develop. She says it relies on continued cooperation with federal and state agencies as well as getting churches and community leaders involved in preventing crime.
The mayor also plans to attend a violent crime summit in New York City next with other mayors from around the nation.
