Survey finds economic expansion in Oklahoma

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A survey of business leaders and supply managers in Oklahoma finds the state's economy continuing to expand.

The survey by Creighton University economics professor Ernie Goss found Oklahoma's business conditions index is 81.9 for April. That's an increase of more than 20 points from March and is the highest index in the nine states Goss surveys.

An index of greater than 50 indicates an expanding economy.

Goss says the state added more than 10,000 new jobs during the first three months of the year and is on track to add about 12,000 more during the next three months.
