A man is shot and killed after Tulsa Police say he attempted to break into an west Tulsa apartment.
According to police officers, the shooting happened at 5:15 AM at the Sandy Park Apartments in the 6100 block of West 11th Street.
Tulsa Police say a man was in his apartment with his wife and child. He heard someone trying to break in and grabbed his rifle. Just as the suspect crossed the threshold, the resident of the apartment fired several shots. The suspect was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The suspect's name has not been released. No one else was hurt.
As for the shooter, he was been questioned by Tulsa Police but it does not appear any charges will be filed. Police say they believe the man acted in self defense. Witnesses have corroborated his story.
