ASHBURN, Va. (AP) Former Oklahoma cornerback Chijioke Onyenegecha has been released by the Washington Redskins.
Onyenegecha played in all eleven of the Sooners' regular season games last year and compiled 31 tackles.
A highly regarded junior college transfer from California, Onyenegecha's only interception in two seasons at Oklahoma came against Nebraska last season, and he returned it 63 yards for a touchdown.
He was suspended for the Holiday Bowl for violating team rules.
He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Redskins last month but was cut yesterday after the team's minicamp ended.
