VERNON, Okla. (AP) Authorities are investigating the death of a Texas man who was found shot to death near his mother's home in Vernon, Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says 45-year-old Kevin Baccus was shot in the head and stomach.
Agent Tommy Graham says Baccus telephoned family members Sunday night and said he was on his way back to his mother's home in Vernon but believed someone was following him.
When Baccus didn't arrive, his family members started searching for him and found his body about 10 feet from his truck, about three miles from his mother's home.
Baccus is from Mesquite, Texas, but was raised near Vernon, a small community in McIntosh County.
