Edmond Man Dies After Water Skiing In Atoka County

ATOKA, Okla. (AP) _ The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an Edmond man died of a heart attack just minutes after water skiing on a creek in rural Atoka County.

Troopers say 66-year-old James Bushey was taken to Atoka Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The patrol says Bushey fell about 11:30 AM while skiing on McGee Creek east of Buster Hight Landing.

After he was pulled into the boat, Bushey suffered an apparent heart attack and stopped breathing.
