July Rains Bring Flooding Problems To Portions Of Eastern Oklahoma

Cooling July rains bring some problems to the Tulsa area overnight.

Heavy rains fell across portions of eastern Oklahoma overnight. As much as two inches fell in some areas in an hour.

That caused some localized street flooding like Admiral and Memorial in Tulsa. Also in Tulsa, near 66th and Lewis, two cars got trapped in high water including one with a woman and two children.

Good Samaritans helped them to safety. Stephen Riley: “everybody got to safety. There were a few other people who came thru here and we diverted traffic and told them hey it's a safety hazard and this is a tough situation.”

PSO was also busy overnight restoring service to customers who were without power due to the thunderstorms.
